The Jammu and Kashmir Administration has recently announced a three-year extension to the upper age limit for the upcoming Combined Competitive Examination-2023. The General Administration Department, under the authority of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, issued a notification stating that the upper age limit for open merit candidates has been increased from 32 to 35 years. The age limit has also been enhanced for Reserved category candidates and Physically challenged candidates.
The upper age limit for Reserved category candidates has been raised from 34 to 37 years, while for Physically challenged candidates, it has been increased from 35 to 38 years. This decision comes in response to the demands from aspirants and representations made by several delegations. The move aims to provide greater opportunities and inclusivity for aspiring candidates in the region. By extending the upper age limit, the Jammu and Kashmir Administration seeks to accommodate a wider pool of applicants, allowing individuals with more experience and maturity to participate in the competitive examination.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, who approved the age relaxation on May 10, recognizes the importance of addressing the concerns and aspirations of the candidates. This decision is expected to encourage more individuals to pursue their ambitions and contribute to the administrative services in Jammu and Kashmir. The extension of the upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination-2023 reflects the administration’s commitment to creating a level playing field and fostering equal opportunities for candidates from diverse backgrounds.
