Ministry of Rural Development Signs MoU with Meesho to Boost Rural Entrepreneurship

The Ministry of Rural Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Meesho, an Indian social commerce platform, to promote rural entrepreneurship and create employment opportunities in rural areas. The MoU was signed on February 28, 2021, and is aimed at empowering rural entrepreneurs and helping them become self-reliant.

Under the agreement, Meesho will provide training and support to rural entrepreneurs, especially women, to help them set up their businesses and reach out to a wider audience. The platform will also provide access to its technology and tools, enabling rural entrepreneurs to connect with customers across the country and grow their businesses.

The partnership with Meesho is part of the government’s efforts to promote rural entrepreneurship and provide employment opportunities in rural areas. The Ministry of Rural Development has been actively working towards the goal of creating self-employment opportunities in rural areas and promoting rural entrepreneurship.

Meesho is a social commerce platform that enables people to start their businesses without any investment. The MoU was signed by Alka Upadhyaya, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, and Vidit Aatrey, CEO, Meesho.
