Notably, four of the six participating teams in the MLC are owned by franchises of the prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL). These teams include MI New York (Mumbai Indians), Texas Super Kings (Chennai Super Kings), LA Knight Riders (Kolkata Knight Riders), and the Seattle Orcas (Delhi Capitals). The remaining two teams, namely the San Francisco Unicorns and Washington Freedom, will also strive to make their mark in this high-profile competition. Each squad will consist of 16-19 players, including at least one under-23 domestic rookie player, highlighting the emphasis on nurturing young talent.
While each team can have up to nine international players, only a maximum of six of them will be allowed to play in a single match, adding a strategic element to the team compositions.
