Kanpur – In a significant step towards fostering the willpower and spiritual strength of today’s youth, CSJM University has joined hands with ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday. The collaborative effort, initiated under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, aims to empower students with the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and enable them to lead stress-free lives, free from detrimental habits.
The primary objective of the MoU is to establish the ‘Geeta Club’ in partnership with ISKCON within the premises of CSJM University. This club will serve as a platform to offer regular sessions and courses on the profound teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Through these enlightening sessions, students will gain valuable insights into the principles and philosophies that can guide them towards a more purposeful and fulfilling life.
ISKCON Kanpur, renowned for its dedication to spiritual well-being, will spearhead the initiatives of the Geeta Club. The organization plans to organize various festivals for the students, providing them with an opportunity to immerse themselves in devotional practices and experience the joy of communal celebration. Furthermore, the club will engage in several activities focused on social and spiritual welfare, including the distribution of Bhagavad Gita scriptures, food distribution drives, skill training workshops, environmental protection initiatives, and tree plantations.
Recognizing the importance of providing students with access to valuable literary resources, ISKCON generously donated copies of the Srimad Bhagavatam Puranas, Shri Chaitanya Charitamrit, and Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta to the University library. These sacred texts will serve as a treasure trove of knowledge, offering profound insights into spirituality and fostering a deeper understanding of ancient wisdom.
The collaboration between CSJM University and ISKCON holds immense promise for the holistic development of students. By integrating the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita into their academic journey, young minds will be equipped with a moral compass to navigate the complexities of life. The Geeta Club will serve as a sanctuary for self-reflection, encouraging students to cultivate qualities such as resilience, compassion, and self-discipline.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the partnership, Vice-Chancellor Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak stated, “This collaboration between CSJM University and ISKCON reflects our commitment to nurturing the overall well-being of our students. By imparting the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, we aim to instill values that will help them thrive not only academically but also in their personal and professional lives.”
The establishment of the Geeta Club at CSJM University is a remarkable stride towards providing a platform for students to explore their spiritual potential while pursuing their educational aspirations. Through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and the various activities facilitated by ISKCON, young individuals will be empowered to lead purposeful lives, contributing positively to society and manifesting their true potential.
