The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has recently released its rain predictions for various regions across India, bringing both relief and concern to different areas. As per the forecast, Mumbai and its neighboring districts are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall in the coming days, following the torrential showers that have been lashing the region. However, a yellow alert has been issued for August 2, indicating an expected increase in intensity mid-week. In other parts of the country, the weather forecast brings mixed news.
Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall from July 29 to August 2. Similarly, eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will see rainfall between July 29 and July 31, while western Madhya Pradesh will experience it on August 1 and 2. Vidarbha can expect the same on August 2. Konkan, Goa, and central Maharashtra are also in line for light to moderate rainfall from July 29 to August 1.
Southern India, on the other hand, will experience light to moderate rainfall in coastal Karnataka and Telangana between July 29 and August 2. Moving to the eastern region, West Bengal and Sikkim can anticipate this weather on July 30, Jharkhand on August 1, and Bihar from July 31 to August 2. Northeast India, including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, may witness light to moderate rainfall over the next five days.
A fresh low pressure area has formed over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, leading the IMD to forecast heavy downpour in certain parts of the state. The districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, and Kandhamal are expected to experience heavy rainfall on Sunday. Moreover, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, and Kandhamal on July 31 due to the impact of the low pressure.
The IMD has issued an orange warning for several districts, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall from August 1 to 3. While these predictions offer valuable insights for residents and authorities to prepare for potential weather-related challenges, it’s essential to stay updated with the latest forecasts and heed any alerts or warnings issued by the IMD to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals and communities across the country.
