New ₹75 Coin Unveiled by Finance Ministry to Commemorate New Parliament Building Inauguration

In a significant announcement, the Union finance ministry revealed plans to mint a special ₹75 coin to honor the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The coin’s design will feature the inscription ‘Parliament Complex’ along with an image of the magnificent structure. Circular in shape, the coin will have a diameter of 44 millimeters and 200 serrations along its edges. The metallic composition of the coin will consist of a quaternary alloy comprising 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc.

Adorning the obverse side of the coin will be the iconic Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar, accompanied by the inscription ‘Satyamev Jayate.’ On the left periphery, the words ‘Bharat’ in Devanagari script and ‘India’ in English will be engraved. According to the official notification, the central design will be flanked on the left periphery by the word ‘भारत’ (Bharat) and on the right periphery by ‘INDIA’ in English. Additionally, the upper periphery will showcase ‘Sansad Sankul’ in Devanagari script, while the lower periphery will feature ‘Parliament Complex’ in English.

The coin’s design adheres to the guidelines specified in the First Schedule of the Constitution. This commemorative coin aims to celebrate the new Parliament building and its historic significance, reflecting the country’s commitment to democracy and governance. The finance ministry’s initiative to mint this special coin is a testament to the importance of preserving and honoring India’s architectural heritage.
