In a successful joint operation conducted by the army and police, five foreign terrorists were killed near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter ensued following a specific input received on Thursday night in the Jumagund area of the north Kashmir district. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, confirmed the development on Twitter, stating that the search operation in the area was still ongoing.
Today’s operation marks another triumph for the security forces in their relentless efforts to counter infiltration across the LoC. Yesterday, the army thwarted an infiltration attempt in the Poonch sector, seizing a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. This incident adds to a series of foiled counter-infiltration operations carried out by the security forces in recent times.
According to officials, there have been ten significant infiltration attempts prevented since February, underscoring Pakistan’s persistent endeavors to push terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir. The repeated foiling of such infiltration bids highlights the unwavering determination of the security forces to safeguard the region from external threats.
The successful neutralization of these five foreign terrorists reinforces the commitment of the security forces in maintaining peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. Their proactive efforts continue to dismantle terror networks and thwart any attempts to disrupt the peace in the region.
