The Bhopal gas tragedy occurred on December 3, 1984, when a Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal, India, released toxic gas, resulting in thousands of deaths and long-term health effects for many. It’s considered one of the world’s worst industrial disasters, highlighting the importance of industrial safety and corporate responsibility.
