The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for determining the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers in schools affiliated to the CBSE and other schools recognized by the Government of India.
The CTET 2024 will be held on January 28, 2024. The last date to register for the exam is today, November 27, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for the CTET 2024:
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years as of January 1, 2024
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks (or an equivalent grade) from a recognized university
- Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from a recognized institution
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution
Application Process
The application process for the CTET 2024 is online. Candidates can apply for the exam on the official website of the CBSE.
The application fee for the CTET 2024 is as follows:
- General Category: ₹1,200
- SC/ST/PWD/Female: ₹600
Exam Pattern
The CTET 2024 will be a two-paper test. Paper 1 will be for the elementary level (Classes 1 to 5) and Paper 2 will be for the upper primary level (Classes 6 to 8).
Each paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The duration of each paper will be 2 hours.
