The MAARG (Mentorship, Advisory, Assistance, Resilience, and Growth) platform will be launched by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
On January 16, the Commerce Ministry announced that MAARG, a portal for mentorship for start-ups across a variety of sectors, and geographies, would go live and facilitate mentoring for start-ups. The portal will facilitate mentorship between start-ups and entrepreneurs across different sectors, stages, and functions, according to the ministry. The matchmaking phase of the portal will allow start-ups to connect with mentors and discuss their mentorship needs with them.
âWith the launch of the matchmaking phase of the portal, startups will be able to connect with mentors and discuss their mentorship needs,â the ministry of commerce and industry said in a statement on Friday. In addition to the support extended for their business growth, mentorship, funding, partnerships, and market access opportunities, the winning and finalist startups will also serve as role models for other entrepreneurs,â said the ministry.
The National Startup Awards 2022 invited applications across 17 sectors which were further divided into 50 sub sectors, and 7 special categories and the sectors included Animal Husbandry, Construction, Drinking Water, Education & Skill Development, Energy, Enterprise Technology, Environment, Fintech, Food Processing, Health & Wellness, Media and entertainment, Industry 4.0, Security, Space, Transport and Travel.
The minister will also award outstanding start-ups and enablers which have demonstrated exceptional capabilities not just in terms of financial gains, but also in terms of measurable impacts on society. Each of the winning start-ups will receive a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, while an exceptional incubator and an accelerator will receive each a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh.
