The assistant security manager of the airline subsequently registered an official complaint with the police. Singh has been charged under Sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code, specifically for assault or criminal force with the intent to outrage the modesty of a woman, as well as for an act intended to insult the modesty of a woman. The police reported that the air hostess brought the incident to the attention of the crew, stating that the accused was allegedly inebriated at the time of the incident.
