In a tragic incident, the Shahjahanpur police have arrested two men following the death of a pregnant woman who was in a live-in relationship with one of them. The victim, identified as Seema Gautam, 24 years old, passed away at a hospital in Lakhimpur Kheri, where she was brought by the accused individuals, Naved and his associate Farhan. The deceased woman’s brother alleged that she had been poisoned, leading to the involvement of the police in the case.
Seema, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, had been living with Naved for one and a half years in a rented accommodation owned by a person named Mustaquim in the Roza area of the district. At the time of the incident, Naved and Farhan were already in jail, while Mustaquim was reported to be absconding. Acting upon the complaint filed by the woman’s brother, the police registered a case against Naved, Mustaquim, and Farhan.
On the night of the incident, Naved took Seema to a local hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead by the doctors. The hospital staff promptly notified the police about the incident. Initially, Naved had provided false identities, introducing himself as Sohaib Siddiqui and the victim as his wife, Zoya. However, he confessed to the truth during police interrogation.
The ASP (Shahjahanpur), Sudhir Jaiswal, stated that Seema had been in a live-in relationship with Naved for the past one and a half years, unbeknownst to her family members. The police have sent the victim’s body for a post-mortem examination, and further investigation into the case is currently underway.
This unfortunate incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of individuals involved in live-in relationships and highlights the need for increased awareness and support for such couples. The police will continue their efforts to uncover the truth behind Seema Gautam’s death and bring justice to those responsible for this tragedy.
