Tata Motors has announced that Rajan Amba, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Support at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover India. Amba will take over from Rohit Suri, who is set to retire on 31st March 2022.
As the Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover India, Amba will be responsible for leading the business and driving growth for the luxury automotive brand in India. He will oversee the company’s operations, including sales, marketing, after-sales, and dealer development.
Amba has over 24 years of experience in the automotive industry and has held several leadership positions at Tata Motors. In his current role, he has been responsible for driving the sales and marketing strategy for Tata Motors passenger vehicles business in India. He has also played a key role in the development and launch of several new models, including the Tata Nexon EV and the Tata Altroz.
Commenting on the appointment, Shailesh Chandra, President of the Passenger Vehicles Business Unit at Tata Motors, said, “Rajan brings with him a deep understanding of the Indian automotive market and has been instrumental in driving the growth of the Tata Motors passenger vehicles business. With his strong leadership skills and customer-centric approach, I am confident that he will take Jaguar Land Rover India to new heights.”
Jaguar Land Rover India is a subsidiary of the UK-based luxury carmaker and has a significant presence in the Indian market. The company offers a range of premium SUVs and sedans, including the Range Rover, Discovery, and F-PACE.
