In a commendable operation, the Dholpur police in Rajasthan successfully rescued a 7-year-old girl who had allegedly been sold and married off to a 38-year-old man. The incident took place in the village of Mania, where the police received crucial information regarding the minor girl being traded for a staggering sum of Rs. 4.30 lakh by her own parents. The marriage was solemnized with a man named Bhupal Singh on May 21. Led by Suresh Chand, Assistant Sub-Inspector and Welfare Officer, the police swiftly organized a raid in Mania village.

Their efforts paid off as they found the young girl at Singh’s residence, dressed as a bride. The immediate rescue of the girl was followed by the registration of a complaint against all individuals involved in the heinous acts of human trafficking and child marriage. The charges were filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. During the subsequent investigation, Deepak Khandelwal, Circle Officer of Mania, detained and interrogated the family members of Bhupal Singh. Shockingly, they admitted to purchasing the minor girl for a substantial sum and marrying her off to Singh on the specified date.

Further probing revealed that the family, originally hailing from Madhya Pradesh, had a history of involvement in similar cases, including an alleged murder. The police are leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice. They are diligently conducting a thorough investigation to identify all individuals implicated in this abhorrent act. As the investigation unfolds, the authorities strive to apprehend any other individuals involved in such reprehensible activities. The rescue of the young girl has served as a reminder of the ongoing battle against child marriage and human trafficking, urging society to remain vigilant and take immediate action against such egregious crimes.
