Sundar Pichai meets India’s IT minister

The Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, met with Google CEO Sundar Pichai at Google’s headquarters to discuss India Stack and the Make-in-India program.

Pichai thanked the minister for visiting the Googleplex and discussed the many ways they are working together on India’s digital transformation. During the 8th edition of the Google for India event, Pichai highlighted investments in AI that the company shared to make India’s digital economy more inclusive, helpful, and safe. He also emphasized the opportunity for startups in India and the role technology can play in improving lives. In December, Pichai also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss India’s digital transformation and global strategic developments. Pichai expressed his optimism for India’s future and his commitment to supporting India’s G20 presidency to advance an open, connected internet that works for all.
