Nandamuri Taraka Ratna, a popular Telugu actor and politician, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2023, at the age of 38. Ratna was known for his roles in several Telugu films and had also been actively involved in politics as a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Ratna’s untimely demise has come as a shock to his fans, friends, and colleagues in the film and political fraternity. The cause of his death has not yet been officially confirmed, but reports suggest that he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Born on January 21, 1985, in Hyderabad, Ratna was the grandson of N. T. Rama Rao, the legendary actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Ratna made his debut in Telugu cinema in 2002 with the film “Bala Ramayanam” and went on to act in several other films, including “Okato Number Kurradu”, “Yamadonga”, and “Adhineta”.
Apart from his successful film career, Ratna was also known for his political affiliations. He had joined the TDP in 2009 and had actively campaigned for the party in various elections. Ratna had contested in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Visakhapatnam constituency but had lost to the YSR Congress Party candidate.
