Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on an official state visit to Washington DC on June 22, following an invitation from United States President Joe Biden. The announcement of the visit was made jointly by the governments of India and the US in New Delhi and Washington DC.

The summit is expected to be attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, and other leaders of the SCO.Furthermore, President Biden himself will travel to New Delhi later in the year to attend the G20 summit, which Prime Minister Modi will host on September 9 and 10. While Modi has visited the US multiple times since becoming Prime Minister in 2014, this upcoming visit will mark his first official state visit to Washington DC. It will also be his second visit to the US since President Biden assumed office in January 2021.The visit is expected to strengthen the partnership between the United States and India, focusing on various areas of cooperation such as defense, clean energy, and space.
