In an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between India and Nepal, Indian Railways is planning to run its Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train next month between the pilgrimage sites of Ayodhya in India and Janakpur in Nepal. The initiative is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries. The tour, titled ‘Shri Ram-Janaki Yatra: Ayodhya to Janakpur’ will begin on February 17th, and it will include several other significant sites such as Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Kashi, and Prayagraj, as well as many other significant sites. At the beginning of the train tour, tourists will have the opportunity to visit Shri Ram Janmbhumi temple and Hanuman temple in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama. They will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the Bharat Mandir at nearby Nandigram as well. A train will travel from Sitamarhi in Bihar to Janakpur in Nepal by bus, which is 70 km away from the railway station in Sitamarhi. The tourists will travel by bus to Janakpur in Nepal by train from Sitamarhi.
“After visiting Janakpur, on the next day, tourists will return to Sitamarhi and visit the Janki temple at Sitamarhi and Punaura Dham and from Sitamarhi, the train will proceed on an overnight journey to Varanasi and while at Kashi, tourists will visit Sarnath, Kashi Vishwanath temple & corridor, Tulsi temple and Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple. Tourists will move from Varanasi to Prayagraj by bus and visit Sangam, Shankar Viman Mandapam, Hanuman temple and Bharadwaj Ashram and after Prayagraj, the train will return to Delhi on the 7th day of its journey and guests will be travelling roughly 2500 Kms in this tour,” the release added.
As part of this tour package, a starting price range of 39,775 will be charged per person. In addition to the train journey in the respective class, the price will include a night’s stay at an AC hotel, vegetarian meals, all transfers and sightseeing on buses, travel insurance, and the services of a guide.
