JIO Mart: Mukesh Ambani has handed over the retail arm of Reliance Industries to his daughter Isha Ambani. After that, they introduced Jio Mart services, initiating revolutionary changes in the retail business. Last year, the fast e-commerce delivery services Jio Mart Express launched across the country. But Mukesh Ambani closed it quietly within a year. Why start so great and close within a year?
JIO Mart: It is known that Reliance Industries subsidiary Jio Mart launched Jio Mart Express services last year. Launched for fast delivery of essential goods, these services have now been shut down by Reliance Industries. Last year, in March 2022, these services were brought by the industrialist, Apara Kuberu Mukesh Ambani. They said that the goods will be delivered within 90 minutes through JIO Mart Express Service.
According to Reliance Industries (Reliance Retail Business) sources, these services are currently closed. Jiomart Express app can no longer be downloaded from Google Play Store. It seems that the website has also been deactivated.
On the other hand.. If someone tries to download the Jio Mart app, there is a suggestion to get Jio Mart services through WhatsApp. If the order is made through WhatsApp, it takes a few hours or even a day for delivery. This means that Jio Mart has stopped its express delivery services. Reliance Jio Platforms has partnered with WhatsApp parent company Meta. As a part of that, it is possible to place an order in Jio Mart through WhatsApp.
Reliance Industries launched the Jio Mart Express services in Navi Mumbai in March 2022 with great fanfare. These services have been expanded in all 200 cities across the country. However, company sources said that Jio Mart does not want to provide fast services. Jio Mart Express services were well received last year. But, it is noteworthy that it was closed within a year.
Competition in fast delivery..
A representative of Isha Ambani-led Reliance Retail confirmed this. Jio Mart Express is said to be a pilot project which is only made available to selected users. However, the company’s digital commerce business website said the essentials business will continue to operate in various ways.
Currently, Jio Mart is serving more than 350 cities across the country. On the other hand, Jio Mart services are available through WhatsApp and Milk Basket in 35 cities. Reliance plans to expand these services to more cities soon.
Competition is high as there are many companies in fast delivery.
Among them, Swiggy, Instamart, Zomato’s Blinkit, Big Basket’s BB Now and Zepto are providing fast e-commerce delivery services. On the other hand.. Reliance Retail has also invested heavily in quick commerce startup Dunjo. Last month, Jio Mart laid off 3 percent of its employees. With the current decision, more people are likely to be victimized. Jio Mart plans to use Dunzo’s delivery services.
